Deepfakes lesson for PSHE and RSHE
The RSHE statutory guidance that schools follow from September 2026 asks secondary schools to teach about deepfakes: what they are, the harm they can do and how to identify them.
Our lessons come at deepfakes through real news. In Made with AI?, pupils look at how platforms have started labelling AI-made music and voices, how AI content is detected, why detection is imperfect, and why copying a real person's voice crosses a line.

Questions
How do I teach deepfakes safely?
Use famous or invented people in every example, never pupils or staff, and read the safeguarding notes in the teacher guide first. Follow your school's child protection policy.
What if a pupil says a deepfake has been made of them?
Treat it as a safeguarding concern and tell your Designated Safeguarding Lead straight away. Do not view, copy, forward or ask for the image. Creating, keeping or sharing indecent images of under-18s is a crime even if AI made them. Childline and the Internet Watch Foundation's Report Remove service helps under-18s get nude images or videos of themselves taken down.
Which ages is the deepfakes lesson for?
Every pack has full versions for ages 11-14 (KS3), 14-16 (KS4) and 16-18.
Is there a free deepfakes lesson?
Yes. The free sample pack, Made with AI?, covers AI-made music and voice copying and links them to deepfakes. More lessons on deepfakes will be added to this page as they are published.
